Комедия разворачивается в загородном поместье, где комнаты именуются не иначе как «свинарник» или «коровник»: на месте дома раньше находилась ферма. Муж с нетерпением выпроваживает жену к маме, чтобы провести выходные с любовницей, но все идет не так. Причем настолько не так, что одна из случайно попавших в дом героинь в недоумении разводит руками: «Разъясните мне, кто я, в конце концов! Кухарка, актриса, модель, любовница, проститутка или свинарка?» И это только середина запутанной истории с типично французскими нюансами.
